About the Adult, Family & Therapy Program
The Adult and Family Services (AFS) Therapy Program is the outpatient therapy department of ReDiscover. This program provides support to clients from all backgrounds, ages, needs, and often to those who have difficulties seeking treatment elsewhere.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and interact with a caseload of clients with diverse characteristics either in-person and in some cases, virtually.
- Evaluate client’s mental health condition based on review of client information, including bio-psycho-social assessments, psychological evaluation and diagnostics. Collecting information about the client through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports.
- Develop and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience, knowledge, and understanding of the client’s information and history. Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Counsel clients, individually and in group sessions specific to the program format, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes. Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients treatment.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans for client(s) being served.
Requirements of the Position
- Availability to work a full-time schedule, (40-hours a week), Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health).
- Active Provisional Counselor license (PLPC) through the state of Missouri or a Master Social Worker license (LMSW) with registered supervision with the Missouri Division of Professional Registration for licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in a minimum requirement.
- Active clinical license in the State of Missouri which includes: Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in direct service provision in a mental health setting.
- Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
