Student Engagement & Activities is a part of the Student Engagement & Leadership team within the Division of Student Affairs that connects students to meaningful involvement opportunities across campus. Through Campus Activities, the Organization Resource Group (ORG), and the Resource Centers, we provide programs, facilities, and services that foster community, support student success, and deepen students’ sense of belonging. Job Description
Summary
The ORG Communications Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the development of marketing materials and communications for the ORG, which includes communication to more than 600 Recognized Student Organizations (RSO).
Essential Functions
- Oversee communications regarding deadlines, events, and resource availability from the ORG to RSOs and stakeholders.
- Develop marketing resources for the ORG and RSOs, ensuring all materials are aligned with MU identity standards through Student Affairs MarComm and UM Campus Marketing departments.
- Promote ORG and student organization activities through social media. Handle all social media communication.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage the ORG social media presence by creating and updating content.
- Maintain working knowledge of all projects within the office to facilitate and manage communications.
- Work on several marketing and communication projects within the ORG office, such as monthly ORG newsletters, banner creation process, tablecloth creation process, stickers, LED Screens, social media, other methods of mass communication, MU Engage graphics, etc.
- Coordinate and plan the ORG’s essential functions through social content creation and planning.
- Coordinate projects with the assistance of the Coordinator of Student Organizations.
Anticipated Hiring Range
$16.25 per hour, paid on a bi-weekly basis
Shift
Average number of hours per week: 20
This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for a student title, an individual must be enrolled at the University of Missouri. Enrollment in the summer session is not required if the student was enrolled in the Spring semester and is pre-enrolled for the Fall semester. Selection is contingent upon results of a review with the Office of Institutional Equity, Office of Student Accountability & Support, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, previous MU appointment history, and reference checks.

- Communicates clearly and effectively.
- Knowledgeable of effective marketing strategies.
- Strong organizational skills, managing time efficiently.
- Detail oriented.
- Proficient Canva/Adobe skillset.
