Independent Living Specialist (restorative aide)

The Adult Day Connection (located in Clark Hall) currently has an immediate opening for a part-time, as needed, Independent Living Specialist.

The Adult Day Connection (ADC) is a state-licensed adult day health care program that provides a supportive environment for adults who have experienced physical and/or cognitive changes. Offering this respite service can delay entry into a long-term care placement and allow family members and caregivers to work, complete needed tasks or rest.

The primary duties for this position are:
Providing supervision for the safety and personal needs of older adults and adults with disabilities.
Providing personal care, including: assistance with feeding, ambulation and toileting for clients.
Responsible for daily meal preparation and kitchen sanitation, in compliance with state regulations.
Responsible for documentation of food program in compliance with state regulations and the provision of required training and supervision for staff and students who assist in food services.
Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, staff, families and clients served by the program.
Ability to accurately document required information in a timely manner.
Ability to assist activities and therapy staff with implementation of daily activities programming as needed.
Qualifications:
HS diploma or equivalent.

At least one year experience working with older adults or persons with disabilities.

Completion of CPR and First Aid certification will be required within 90 days of hire.
