Student Worker - Public Relations & Graphic Design

*Job Description: MU’s Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity (IMSD) program is looking for a knowledgeable, creative and motivated student to work 10-12 hrs/week, dealing with public relations, social media oversight, web communications & graphic design. Duties include designing promotional materials, designing and writing stories for newsletters, updating the office web site & creating blog posts and overseeing various social media accounts. The student will also assist with designing, compiling, and editing the IMSD End of the Year Reception programs, as well as take photographs at program events.
This is a great opportunity for a journalism student; however, all are welcome to apply.
Pay is $8.50/hour. Hours are approximately 10-12 per week during the academic year, with potential projects during the summer months. *Qualifications: Applicants must proficient in Adobe InDesign and be comfortable with web site maintenance. Excellent writing, editing, and design skills are essential. Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WordPress necessary. Some physical labor is involved in setting up for/and cleaning up from events. Ability to contribute to a team environment is essential, as are strong written and oral communications skills. Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and take initiative.
This position's start date is flexible, but we are hoping to start someone as soon as possible.
