The Education and Training Department of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is seeking an intern who wants to acquire practical, real world experience in the field of professional training and development. This internship is expected to last between 9 -12 months or 975 hours and will continue through the academic semester. 
 
This individual will join a team of talented, creative professionals representing a variety of disciplines in the training and development field, including instructional and graphic designers, instructional consultants, a credentialing specialist, and course administrator. The intern will learn how the NAIC supports workplace performance through competency-based training, as well as how training products are developed and how a tuition-generating curriculum is delivered and managed – all while working, hands-on, with sophisticated registration and learning management systems.
 
A qualified individual will gain resume-building experience in these areas:
  • Registration management
  • Text construction and assembly
  • Behind-the-scenes production and delivery of large public, for-tuition virtual learning events and more targeted, performance-based courses
  • Administration of in-person and online courses, webinars, and self-study tutorials
  • Customer service
 And exposure to these areas:
  • Online course development
  • Marketing
  • The “business side” of professional development.
 
Interested candidates must be customer service driven, proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and have the ability to learn other technologies quickly. The ideal candidate must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate an attention to detail in the proofing and editing of text. The individual must be able to manage priorities within a fast-paced environment.Audio editing and basic graphic design experience is a plus
 
 
This person must be able to work 20-25 hours per week. The pay for this position is $14.00 per hour.
