Venture Capital / Growth Equity Summer Analyst

WHO WE ARE:
We are a generalist venture capital firm managing over $1B in capital. We have worked with category-leading companies in areas including including software, consumer-internet, and mobile gaming. Our partners have founded, led and held senior roles in companies like Lululemon, Facebook, SnapChat, Starbucks and Under Armour. We purposely keep a low profile, and some of our past investments include Trunk Club, GoPuff, Honey, Emailage, and ApplyBoard.

What is venture capital? Venture Capital (VC) firms invest money in exchange for equity (ownership) in businesses that are deemed to have high growth potential. The biggest challenge in VC is finding the right companies to invest in before they take off (that’s where you come in!). Prior finance experience is not necessary to excel in this job.

THE INTERNSHIP:
Who We’re Looking For: Full-time summer interns to work directly with our investors to help source deals and evaluate potential investments. The Summer 2020 internship is for Juniors/Rising Seniors, is 10 weeks, paid and is on-site in our LA office. For successful  interns, we will extend the opportunity to continue on as full-time analysts following graduation.

What You’ll Accomplish: Following a week of extensive and hands-on training, you will have the opportunity to source investments and represent Anthos in our outreach to and conversations with CEOs.  Anthos' investment team will help you analyze the opportunities you surface, work through hundreds of companies to help you understand what makes for an extraordinary investment, and hone your ability to analyze growth-stage businesses.

This is not a typical internship. After training, interns will have responsibilities and autonomy akin to that of a full-time analyst. You will play an integral role in Anthos’s investment process and will have opportunities to interact with the entire investment team.

Ideal Candidates: There’s no “right” set of experiences for this job. Great candidates might be studying psychology, art, science, media, marketing, engineering, or anything in between. We care about ability and energy, not your major. We’re interested in meeting a broad set of students from a multitude of backgrounds, people who aren’t afraid to think differently, learn fast, and try hard.

If you are interested in more than one position, you only need to apply once and note it in your application.
