Senior Developer

Overview

SCIO Health Analytics, an EXL Company is looking for a Senior Developer for our West Hartford, CT office. To lead and provide high quality operational and technical application and systems support to SCIO customers and internal business functions. The senior application developer is responsible for design and development of new and existing application modules. The developer will work in a distributed team that implements business logic and processes that support the business needs. The person will also lead design efforts and will be the point of contact for team members to assist in design, coding and technical issues.



Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development efforts using Microsoft technology stack.
  • Support existing applications and processes
  • Work with product team in designing the web apps and back end processes
  • Communicate solutions and follow processes to keep team up to date on tasks
  • Develop and maintain sound working knowledge of SCIO’s business.


Qualifications

  • BS or above in Computer Science or related engineering field or equivalent education-experience
  • 6 years’ systems development experience.
  • Manage own workload and work with the relevant colleagues to develop reports.
  • Work in a distributed team environment.
  • 6 years of Application Support experience
  • 5 years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server (version 2012 or later)
  • Demonstrable expertice in both creating and maintaining complex T-SQL queries, views, and stored procedures in a multi-database environment
  • Experience developing ETL using BizTalk.
  • Familiarity with Healthcare data, Medical Claims, 837’s, and HL7.
  • Experience in developing in Python and/or exposure to Big Data platform
  • Extensive problem solving ,debugging, and performance tuning skills
  • Ability to independently apply production upgrades and support the products and technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible in working outside of core business hours at short-notice
  • Experience with supporting multi-tier infrastructures
  • Experience with supporting .NET applications and an understanding of web technology
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong knowledge of Data Modelling and reporting techniques
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or related field is preferred. Demonstrable Skills and Experience is required.
  • Excellent knowledge in data warehousing and data analysis required
  • Experience in the Healthcare insurance industry is preferred.
  • Experience in Tableau, SSRS preferred
  • Microsoft Certification in database development preferred.
