Analyst – Infrastructure/Asset Backed Debt

Our client, a prominent alternative asset management firm, is seeking an Analyst to join their Infrastructure/Asset Backed Debt team. This role will focus on power and generation and renewable energy markets. This individual work with senior investment members on idea generation, credit decisions and transaction origination. This role will report to the portfolio managers of the team.

Responsibilities:

•       Model transactions, conduct credit research and analytics in power and generation and renewable energy related markets

•       Develop analyses in support of credit specific and market related decisions

•       Participate in cross-sector discussions to determine relative value 

•       Contribute to portfolio strategy formulation

•       Maintain spreadsheets, databases, charts, and forms

•       Prepare books, charts, tables and other materials in support of the team

•       Organize internal and external meetings 

 

Qualifications:

•       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preferably in Mathematics, Finance or other Sciences

•       Strong academic and professional record

•       3-5 years of experience within a Power & Utilities Banking and/or Project Finance group, or equivalent exposure covering the Power sector from the buy side

•       Experience in both investment and non-investment grade transactions is preferred

•       Familiarity with US Power markets; Non-US Power experience is a plus

•       CFA Charterholder preferred

•       Strong Excel modeling capabilities- additional ability to program in VBA or other programming languages is a plus
