Private Client Associate

Provides exceptional customer service while performing services such as opening new accounts, establishing direct deposit accounts, opening retirement accounts and assisting customers with queries concerning financial institution services. Responsible for the development of new business relationships and maintaining existing relationships. Answers questions on all services the financial institution provides, and recognizes selling and referral opportunities.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provides a complete range of customer services at the financial institution, including opening new accounts, explaining available financial institution products and services, and gathering customer information to service new and existing accounts.
  • Receives deposits and ensures that all accounts are properly processed in accordance with banking regulations.
  • Completes arrangements and documents for special services such as savings bond transactions.
  • Carries out the financial institution’s client retention strategies.
  • Proactively prospects for new business.
  • Actively refers loan, insurance, investment, and wealth management services to appropriate financial institution specialists.
  • Assists supervisor in establishing objectives and plans for financial center.
  • Follows policies and procedures
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills
  • In-depth knowledge of all bank deposit products and policies
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Good computer and keyboarding skills
  • Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of various federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Regulation E, and other roles and responsibilities relating to each Act.
 
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Cash handling and sales experience preferred
  • Prior banking experience
  • Prior customer service experience
