Research Assistant

The Research Assistant will provide overall support for the Schroeder Institute, Policy Research team.

Our scientists and researchers use the best and most rigorous research to investigate the latest issues and trends in tobacco use, analyze policies that can protect communities and evaluate the impact of our efforts to make tobacco a thing of the past. The Policy Research team specializes in disseminating and translating science to advance tobacco control policy and practice.

You are eager to learn and grow in taking on new challenges, and have interests in public health, health policy, research and evaluation, and data analysis. 

THE DAY-TO-DAY STUFF
  • Assist with survey development, programming and testing;
  • Assist in the interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data;
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews;
  • Develop factsheets and brief reports;
  • Contribute to manuscript development;
  • Develop presentations for the department;
  • Coordinate research projects;
  • Assist on other projects as needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in public health research, project management, literature searches, survey programming (in platforms such as Qualtrics), and data collection and analysis (in platforms such as Excel or Stata). The candidate must be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively. Excellent communication skills, with a focus on writing ability, are essential. The candidate should be committed to public health and tobacco control.
