Headquarters Summer Internship Program:
As an intern in the Trading area of the firm, you will be given meaningful and challenging assignments during the 10-week summer program. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience and industry knowledge through summer project work in your Division, while also developing professionally through networking with peers, mentors and senior leaders at our Corporate Headquarters.
 
Client Strategies Group Division Overview:
The Client Strategies Group (CSG) at Edward Jones is focused on developing a profound understanding of prospective and current clients’ needs, in order to create an unparalleled experience. Leveraging these critical insights, we implement tailored solutions and enhance our products in ways that enable clients to achieve their financial goals.

From branding and communication to the actual stocks, bonds and mutual funds offered, your work will have a significant impact not only within the CSG division but firm-wide. Working in this collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will be challenged to bring fresh perspectives that allow us to continually exceed client expectations in an ever-evolving landscape.

Trading Overview:
The mission of the Trading area is to provide branch teams and clients with a broad supply and best execution of quality traded investments that reflect client needs and are aligned with our advice and guidance.
 
Position Overview:
·      Trading interns will have the opportunity to work side-by-side our Equity and Fixed Income traders, learning how they implement trading strategies to get the best price for client orders while mitigating risk to the firm.
·      As a trading intern, you will also be given meaningful and challenging assignments throughout the 10-week program designed to provide hands-on experience so you can deepen your knowledge about Trading, Capital Markets, and our firm and develop professional skills for future success.
·      Projects completed by previous Trading interns include the following:
o  Leveraged external and internal data to identify trends and opportunities in the market, presented this information to Traders, and observed how this information was incorporated in future trading strategies.
o  Developed a set of tools and resources for Traders that helped increase efficiency by automating and streamlining certain reoccurring activities.
o  Completed a comprehensive review of our system controls and risk management counterparties and recommended a change that reduced certain trading costs by 75%.

Who Should Apply?
·      Students with:
§ A cumulative G.P.A. or 3.0 or above
§ Sophomore or junior standing
§ A preferred major for this opportunity, including, but not limited to:
§ Finance
§ Economics
§ Mathematics
§ Computer Science

·      Candidates who:
§ Drive to succeed and have a strong interest in the financial services industry
§ Have excellent leadership, communication, teamwork and service skills
§ Demonstrate leadership and involvement in campus organizations and activities
§ Are eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
