Internship - Occupational Therapy Swimming and Water Instruction Modifiations (SWIM) for children with autism

SWIM for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a program that teaches swim lessons to children with an ASD ages 4-18. The program is operated under the University of Missouri Occupational Therapy Department with support from the Mizzou Recreation Center. The internship would entail being the an office support staff for the program. The main responsibilities would include scheduling volunteers for lessons each week and managing volunteer information. This position also will be responsible for communicating with parents of participants and organizing information packets for parents. This position would also be responsible for organizing forms and information for each participant and keeping track of documents. It is also required for this person to attend our swim lessons that take place on Sunday afternoons. As an intern we ask that you work closely with the School of Health Professions Communication office to help market our program to the community. An example of this type of work, would be creating a brochure to share with parents and the community about the services we offer or simply helping keep our social media sites updated.
