Manager-Digital & Social Media

Job Summary:
Responsibilities include working closely with the Sr. Director-Digital & Social Media to facilitate the growth of digital and social media initiatives for the Club through various Royals outlets. This includes executing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok as well as website and email content related to royals.com and losreales.com. 

Accountabilities:  
  • Consistently brainstorm fresh social media promotional ideas to highlight the Royals brand and maximize revenue 
  • Lead day-to-day execution of social media posts and maintain the social media calendar with promotional posts, historical content, and organizational needs 
  • Full understanding of each social media platform and its capabilities while staying on top of trends and advancements 
  • Collaborate with internal content and creative teams to strategize and develop engaging social media content from concept to execution  
  • Forge strong relationships with staff and players to create dynamic content and serve as the voice of the organization 
  • Produce social media content that creatively delivers team news and covers 162+ games a year, Spring Training, Royals FanFest, Community Events, and other events as assigned 
  • Collaborate with MLB and other departments such as Corporate Partnership, Ticketing, and Community/Charities on digital and social media campaigns  
  • Assist with executing paid advertisements for promotional events 
  • Help monitor and respond to social media customer service inquiries and keep track of influencers 
  • Create and present weekly analytics social media reports including the best content and promotions 
  • Manage Spanish digital and social media channels 
  • Supervise Digital/Social Intern and In-Game Coordinator 
  • Research strategies of other MLB teams and other professional sports 
  • Contribute to royals.com email blast communication and website development 
  • Other duties as necessary  
 
Requirements:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing and/or related background 
  • 3 to 5 years digital marketing and social media background  
  • Proven track record of maintaining a social media presence for a sports team or major brand  
  • Strong research and analytical skills will an ability to convert research into actionable social strategy 
  • Experienced in Photoshop and Microsoft applications 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task 
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills 
  • Impeccable grammar and copywriting ability 
  • Ability to collaborate on projects with multiple departments 
  • Knowledge of baseball and the Kansas City Royals preferred 
  • Available to work holidays, evenings, and weekends in addition to the scheduled work week of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
  • Spanish language skills preferred
