DESCRIPTION:
The Internship opportunity provides key foundational banking principles to develop banking skills in a variety of departments. As an Intern, you will learn real life working knowledge within the Banking industry and will be responsible for assisting, learning and experiencing key job duties of assigned positions. 

Departments you may be assigned to work in include: Credit Administration, Commercial Lending, Residential Lending, Finance (Corporate Accounting), Wealth Management, Money Services Business, Treasury Management, Retail Operations, Lending Operations, Deposit Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Marketing, Business Solutions, Human Resources, Information Technology and Security, and Innovation (Project Management).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Learn processes, procedures and assist department with assigned tasks.
  • Collect and analyze information, gather questions/notes.
  • Utilize applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook to complete letters and memos, data entry, working with spreadsheets, scheduling appointments.
  • Provide administrative support: e.g., fax, photocopy, filing, answer phones, open and distribute mail, respond to emails, prepare files.
  • Complete assigned Regulatory University courses.
  • Attend meetings and/or functions as required.
 
Required Skills
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from Oak Brook, IL.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
  • Demonstrates acceptance of responsibility; shows pride in work performed; demonstrates flexibility in acceptance of assignments and schedules; maintains professional behavior and appearance; exhibits dependability.
  • Superior multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Strong initiative, energy and confidence completing projects with limited supervision.
  • Good judgment and discretion working with highly confidential information.
  • Strong PC skills – proficient knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures. (e.g., filing, scanning, correspondence etc.)

Required Experience
  •  Minimum of H.S. Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Preferred candidate will be (2nd) second or third (3rd) year currently attending college/university
  • Should be working toward a minor/major in the business or financial industry
  
Internships take place at our corporate office in Oak Brook, IL. Republic Bank of Chicago does not provide housing or transportation within the Chicagoland area during the internship period.
