Accounts Payable Specialist
What You’ll Do
- Reporting to the Shared Services Finance Manager, you will be the expert of processing supplier invoices on time and accurately. You will be responsible for inputting, recording, receiving, preparing, and/or verifying invoices of moderate complexity to meet supplier, business, accounting, and customer service objectives. Other duties will include:
- Reconciliation of vendor accounts and GR/IR general ledger account.
- Handle telephone and in-person requests personally to support vendors or other personnel in a timely and efficient manner.
- Select proper accounting procedures to follow to properly perform functions for vendor or employee expenses.
- Perform necessary functions of moderate complexity in proper sequence to complete tasks to support business operations to meet business, accounting, and customer service objectives
- Comply with applicable regulatory health and safety policies and practices in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of all employees, company assets, environment and regulatory compliance.
- Adhere to the AP goals and metrics as set forth each fiscal year, including support of on time payments
- Submit process improvement ideas to create efficiencies and quality outputs from the AP process
- Complete cross training as indicated by superiors to provide growth and consistency. May substitute or assist others to ensure timely completion of tasks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. A.S Degree in accounting strongly desired. Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.
- At least 3 - 4 years of shared Services field experience (AP, AR, Payroll or accounting)
- Basic understanding of general ledger and account relationships.
- Able to complete AP account reconciliations and other ad hoc data analysis of moderate complexity.
- Understanding of Microsoft office products. Must be proficient in Excel and comfortable with data manipulation (V-lookups, pivot tables)
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
- Bilingual in French and English, or Spanish and English a plus
