Pricing Intern

JOB SUMMARY
 
Perform operational and administrative functions and gain professional experience and exposure in Pricing team. Assist in driving yield improvement strategies to maximize revenue and profit. Our Pricing Interns ensure that our pricing strategies are aligned with the strategic direction of the company–as such they are critical to our financial performance. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Make pricing decisions using financial parameters under the direct mentorship of a Pricing Manager.
  2. Perform high level analyses, including account-specific revenue and profitability, historical trends, root cause analysis etc., and then make recommendations based on the results and effectively communicate both the results and the recommendations.
  3. Partner with both internal and external customers to identify opportunities, facilitate problem resolution and drive process improvement.
  4. Measure/monitor the results of strategic and tactical pricing decisions, and then report them to senior management.
  5. Interpret customer pricing agreements and make recommendations on improvement tactics.
  6. Coordinate the implementation of profit improvement strategies and conduct analysis of market rates to identify potential areas of opportunity for pricing adjustments.
  7. Design, support, and implement communication and awareness efforts that create/maintain organizational discipline around pricing and yield strategies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  1. Grade point average 2.75 or better.
  2. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Exceptional customer service attitude and skills.
  4. Demonstrated organizational and scheduling skills.
  5. Currently enrolled and pursuing degree in related field.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS
 
This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 
The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
