Refugee Center Sustainability & Development AmeriCorps VISTA

Refugee Sustainability & Development VISTA
at the Utah Refugee Services Office

Hoping to serve in one of the only U.S. VISTA programs focused solely on building capacity within refugee-serving organizations? Do you want to boost your skills in business, marketing, and program management to the next level? Do you aspire to combine your professional background with a desire to uplift your community and empower others to attain self-sufficiency? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
The Refugee Center Sustainability and Development VISTA will build the capacity of the Utah Refugee Education and Training Center’s (URETC) programming through developing sustainable marketing and reporting plans, improving existing data tracking systems, and establishing new lasting partnerships to support center programs, workshops, and services. Building the capacity of programs that URETC offers will allow more refugee clients to gain the skills, certifications and expertise needed to place them in better paying jobs that will allow them to support their families and lift their communities out of poverty.
The Data and Sustainability VISTA is one of ten AmeriCorps VISTA members involved in the Utah Refugee VISTA Project. Our VISTAs serve at seven sites across the Salt Lake Valley, but still work closely with one another. Our VISTAs can expect professional development, mentorship, and support from AmeriCorps and their host organizations. Serving in Salt Lake City, there is always something new to do. From international film festivals to cultural celebrations and abundant access to year-round outdoor recreation, there's something for everyone.
Please reach out to Kira Norcross, our VISTA Leader, at knorcross@utah.gov with any questions about the position, AmeriCorps VISTA, or the Utah Refugee VISTA Project at large.
