Duty Station: Vienna, Austria
Start/Duration of Appointment: June/July 2020, 1 year
Main Purpose
The main purpose of the internship is to support activities in the Accelerator Applications Project in the areas of financial and economic analysis of business cases.
Tasks / Key Results Expected • Development and refinement of small business scenarios for small commerciallyoriented facilities (cyclotrons, irradiators, ion beam accelerators) as well as pure research facilities. • Development of models, case studies and training exercises using COMFAR (UNIDO) and EMPOWER (IAEA) modelling tools for financial and economic feasibility analysis. • Contribution to organization and production of relevant IAEA meetings, reports, and projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of nuclear science • Knowledge of finance, business, and economics. • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment. • Good organisational skills. • Knowledge of common office software
Qualifications and Experience
• A University degree in Physical Sciences, Finance, Business, or Economics with knowledge or experience in the other areas. • Experience in technical document editing is an asset. • Experience in accounting or business case development is an asset.
Applicant Eligibility
• Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree. • Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.
• Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.
• Excellent written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian) an asset.
• Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.
