Editorial Summer Intern, Hoboken, NJ

Hoboken 10 weeks full time from 8th June 2020 until 14th August 2020 
 We’re looking for a diverse group of highly talented recent graduates and final year students to apply for our paid 10-week Summer Internship. 
Successful candidates will work on a project-based assignment within one of our Editorial departments for the duration of the internship. 
As an Editorial Intern, you will support an Editorial team by taking on a wide variety of editorial and administrative tasks. You will support and collaborate with internal and external customers, allowing you to develop an understanding of the publishing process. Each Intern will be assigned a project to complete during the 10 weeks. Examples of projects include:
 Supporting the Social Sciences and Humanities book publishing group with various administrative tasks, including the tracking and updating of: proposal and manuscript reviews, payment requests, agreements, title databases, project trackers, and post-publication follow up work. They may be asked to support authors, editors, or Wiley colleagues such as marketing and cover design teams.
Working as the Culinary and Language Intern you will help clearing permissions, researching competitors’ platforms inside and outside the US, finding innovative ways to teach languages, and creating surveys to test our products.
The Editorial Process intern will work with our team to help manage our editorial process workflows for journals in the Current Protocols and Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews Program: learning about Scholar One Manuscripts (S1M) submission platforms, exporting of submissions (manuscripts), verifying issue line-ups, and helping with cover solicitation and design. The intern will also assist in preparing journal status reports (Publisher’s reports, Cover Revenue) and handle journal inboxes (author inquiries). He or she will also be involved in social media sites for selected titles.
Working in the Social Science and Humanities team you will Research contacts for distribution of review surveys, Duties will include: Compiling and Analyzing information about competing products, Compiling and Analyzing reviewer feedback on products in development
Running various reports (sales, adoptions) and collaborating in discussion (creative) with marketing on product marketing campaigns
Production Assistant:
Proofreading and updating departmental documents used by global Research Content Transformation colleagues; organizational management of document files on global SharePoint site. Adding meta data to documents on SharePoint to make them discoverable via search on SharePoint. Tracking and disseminating updates to global colleagues regarding latest updates.
Research Assistant:
Identify emerging/growth areas of research and education in HSS with an emphasis on disciplines utilizing primary sources; identify specific programs of study and leading faculty within a targeted list of global institutions that correlate to the Wiley Digital Archives program; Access and review competitive offerings in the digital archives market, and provide detailed analyses of competitor offerings (competitive review).
Skills Required all roles:
The ideal candidates would be a curious problem-solver, eager to learn, and ready to pitch in wherever needed. Interst in the Publishing industry as a career with an understanding of Wiley's portfolio of products and services

Our ten-week summer internship runs from 8th June 2020 until 14th August 2020 
 
Criteria: 
  • Graduating between May 2020 and January 2021 
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. 
  • Be authorized to live and work full time in the US unrestricted after graduation. 
  • Must be able to work 40 hours week throughout the course of the 10-week summer internship in Hoboken
