Regional Operations Controller

Responsible for leading the Financial Operations group with a focus on the following areas:
  • Operational Reporting and Analysis
  • Forecasting and Planning
  • Capital Investment, Working Capital, & Cash Flow Analysis
  • Accounting Control Oversight
  • Costing and Cost Center Accounting
  • Business line profitability analysis
  • MOS Capability & Process Improvement Leadership
 
This function is expected to provide timely and meaningful financial support for key business decisions of the Heavy Duty Equipment (HDE) Americas Region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise, mentor and support the Americas Region Plant Controllers as well as the regional Cost   Accountant. Interface effectively with the regional Operations manager and plant managers.
  • Coordinate plant AOP/5YP preparation, including key assumptions; analyze plant AOP/5YP submissions and provide critical review and feedback; analyze consolidated AOP/5YP.
  • Coordinate monthly plant forecasts; analyze plant forecast submissions and provide critical review and feedback; analyze consolidated forecast and prepare regional swings and dashboard reports covering P&L, Working Capital, and Cash Flow.
  • Provide organizational oversight for product costing, inventory valuation and cost center accounting in SAP. Understand current product costs and drive enhancements to product profitability information.
  • Oversee accounting controls and ensure compliance with Modine�s Financial Standard Practices in the areas of inventory, costing and other plant-based processes.
  • Provide on-site support for plant projects, training, and staff transitions.
  • Drive process improvements in financial functions as well as staffing capability growth via use of MOS.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing accounting environment.
  • Strong background in financial analysis, forecasting, planning, cost accounting and plant operational analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively with Plant Controllers as well as other levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Disciplined self-starter with excellent organizational skills with proven ability to work independently, confidentially and with limited direction.
  • Strong system skills including knowledge of a fully integrated ERP system. Previous use and knowledge of SAP and/or Hyperion (HFM) is a plus.
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor�s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
MBA/ CPA / CMA Certifications a plus

TRAVEL:
Travel required 30%
