Senior Administrative Program Coordinator, Employee Operations

Summary
Reporting to the Director of Library Administrative and Strategic Services, provides all personnel management functions for approx. 100 employees and 50 students. Works with OHR (Office of Human Resources) and library supervisors to hire students and manage their employment and compensation. Manages new staff and professional librarian hires and maintains their employment records. Serves as Kronos timekeeper. Provides recommendations, analysis, and reports to supervisors and senior management on job descriptions, payroll, attendance, and other matters. Provides guidance to staff and librarians with all HR related issues and maintains clear and efficient communications with OHR.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of HR best practices including talent acquisition ,risk management, diversity & inclusion, payroll systems, and FMLA
  • Ability to problem solve and analyze possible solutions to complex issues
  • Documented proficiency with standard office software (e.g.,MS Office suite)
  • Proven ability to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to work with a variety of computer systems, campus departments, and service providers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive personal information
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people in and outside of the library

Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of directly related work experience 
OR
  • High School Diploma/equivalent and 8 years of directly related work experience
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • PHR certification
  • Academic library and/or university experience
  • Proficiency/experience with Tulane systems and programs (e.g.,Concur, Kronos, HCM, lnterfolio)
