Research and Insights Intern

To prepare and develop tomorrow’s leaders, the Resort Industry Student Experience (RISE) internship program provides the structure and resources to harness, teach, and grow talented students into successful career professionals through an immersive, holistic, and dynamic learning experience in the hospitality industry.
 All internships will consist of hands on work, observations, special projects, leadership development, training, feedback and evaluations. Students will have the opportunity to form connections with both their peers and industry leaders who are in roles in both their own department and others.
 Internships are approximately three months long with the potential opportunity for a second internship, full or part time employment, however placement is not guaranteed. 
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will be responsible for helping ensure the highest quality data and insights on research studies by executing all aspects of the research process with supervision -- designing studies, executing data collection, hypothesizing and analytic planning, synthesizing data and analytics, creating insights and narratives that drive actionable recommendations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS (up to five):  
1.    Supports the Research & Insights lead in defining research study objectives, and developing the research design
 
2.    Translates project objectives and data needs into survey questions, with supervision from Research & Insights Lead; programs and tests the questionnaire on Qualtrics (as needed)
3.    Develops the analytic plan and generates high quality data using appropriate tools
4.    Supports the Research & Insights lead in synthesizing data and analytics to develop a story-driven report
5.    Coordinates, communicates, and documents all project documents, schedules, changes, issues, and milestones, liaising with key stakeholders as appropriate
 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Recent graduate or student pursing a degree in Market Research, Statistics, Marketing, Communications, Social Science, Business Management, or related field


SKILLS

  • Attention to detail
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Data analytics (preferred)
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools; experience on Qualtrics or any other survey platform preferred


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in college/university courses within 6 months of the start of the internship (recent graduates may apply)
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in current good standing with the college/university
  • Must not be first two semesters taking college coursework
  • Must be able to secure housing in the location of the internship for the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to pass and complete a background check
  • Must be able to complete entire program without interruptions
