Budget Analyst Intern –Summer Term
The McLean County Office of the County Administrator is searching for 2 (two) students majoring in accounting, marketing, public relations, finance or other business-related disciplines to apply for this paid internship opportunity. 
At the direction of an Assistant County Administrator, you will have the opportunity to use your technical and interpersonal skills as you collaborate with over twenty McLean County Government Department Heads in the creation of the 2021 recommended budget.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform statistical studies and trend analysis
  • Compile data on current and historic capital, expense or programmatic projects
  • Assist in the verification of journal entries
  • Analyze monthly financial closings
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements
  • Review transactions, documents, and reports for accuracy
  • Other accounting, finance, and administrative tasks as assigned
  • Complete budget activities and documents for assigned projects and programs
Candidates should be self-motivated and come with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think in a process-oriented, analytical fashion. In addition, candidates must bring a high degree of knowledge and comfort with Excel formulas and working across spreadsheets.
