Registered Behavior Technician

Green, Maxville and Associates is seeking ABA implementers (Registered Behavior Technicians) in the Saint Louis, Saint Charles and Jefferson County.

ABA Implementers provide direct support to children and adults with autism spectrum disorders as prescribed by a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst. Daily duties include planning sessions based on BCBAs program book for patient, implementing behavior support plans, recording required data, updating and communicating with BCBA on patient's progress and completing daily paperwork and progress note. MUST BE TRAINED IN DISCRETE TRIAL TRAINING! This is an integral part of what we do. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to creation of individual behavior therapy goals for IEP and ISP. ABA EXPERIENCE IS A MUST. DEGREED APPLICANTS ARE PREFERRED BUT NOT NECESSARY WITH THE RIGHT EXPERIENCE!
The hours per week vary based on the client (approximately 5-25 hours) This is a part-time position*****
Applicants must have their own computer with WORD and EXCEL, reliable transportation, and a big heart.
Salary based on experience and degree. (THIS IS A CONTRACT POSITION!)

Registered Behavior Technician a PLUS 


Will train the right person
- Implements individualized instructional program (such as discrete trial training, verbal behavior,  academics, self-care skills, social skills development, behavior plan), developed by the Behavior Specialist or other appropriate staff, within the student’s home or school setting.
- Prepares all materials necessary for implementing individualized program as stated above.
- Supports students in school settings through use of inclusion support techniques such as shadow prompting.
- Consults with the classroom teacher and consultant about upcoming assignments and necessary accommodations and modifications for the student.
- Prepares materials and equipment needed for curriculum accommodations and modifications.
- Collects daily progress data on assigned students and reports on that data to supervisors and the team.
- Assists in training staff members and families on autism and appropriate interventions.
- Consults with team members and other appropriate staff on a regular basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
 
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
 
1. Physical, mental, and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
2. Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions.
3. Physical agility to sit, stand, kneel, walk, push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop and to reach overhead.
4. Physical stamina sufficient to sustain light physical labor for up to 8 hours, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.
5. Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment (office, District, school site to site) for sustained periods of time on hard flooring, climb slopes, stairs, ramps and to respond to emergency situations.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education:
 
- Completion high school diploma plus 1 year of experience in field.
- Satisfactory completion of training program in autism interventions including: discrete trial teaching, social skills facilitation, behavior intervention, making curricular modifications and accommodations, structured teaching, visual communication systems, inclusion support strategies and data collection procedures (or demonstration of equivalent level of competency as measured by district-administered test).
- Registered Behavior Technician Certificate from BACB.
 
Experience:
Previous experience working with individuals with Autism and other developmental Disabilities.
 
Knowledge of:
 
 - Child Development
 - Basic understanding of curriculum and instructional materials used at various grade levels.
 - Basic English language and math concepts
 - Basic ABA procedures and intervention
 - Ethical and professional code of conduct as specified by the BACB.
 
Ability to:
 
 - Instruct and plan learning activities under the guidance of appropriate certificated staff or other appropriate specialist
 - Perform simple clerical tasks.
 - Operate standard office machines and equipment.
 - Communicate satisfactorily in oral and written form.
 - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
 - Deliver instructional modifications and accommodations as requested for individual students.
