HR Intern

Dana’s Human Resources team is looking for enthusiastic Interns to join our Columbia team. The Intern will be provided with meaningful and exciting projects that will support our business initiatives and will have exposure to all levels of the global organization.
 
Job Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage special projects as assigned
  • Under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager the intern will administer human resources policies, procedures and programs such as: FMLA, disability, tuition reimbursement, safety, work conduct, etc.
  • Coordinate talent acquisition and talent management activities for hourly personnel such as on-boarding, and job bidding process administration. 
  • Provide back-up for weekly payroll by maintaining and ensuring accuracy of time and attendance records for all employees.
  • Support HR efforts related to investigations, governmental inquiries, grievance resolution, performance and absence management and disciplinary actions
  • Plan, organize and coordinate various events such as united way and employee engagement activities.
  • Support local leadership in action planning related to employee engagement.
  • Maintain employee personnel records.
  • Process various employment actions in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Build strong relationships with operations team, union representatives and other business partners to deliver business objectives and resolve issues.
  • Foster an effective, inclusive work environment, effectively balancing employee advocacy with conservancy of company goals and values.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned

  • Minimum Qualifications of Position
  • Specific qualifications include, but are not limited to:
  • Demonstrated ability working in a team environment
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside the organization in a professional manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Uncompromising judgment towards confidentiality and business ethics
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work 24 hours per week, flexibility with school schedules

  •  Education and Experience Requirements
  • Pursuing Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business, or related degree, required
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA, required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of work experience, required
  • Knowledge of MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), preferred
