Office Manager

Camp Sequoia is in search of an Office Manager for the 2020 season to aid the Associate Director in managing day-to-day operations and logistics. This role is great for someone who has interests in working with children, office management, customer service, human resource management, and/or child psychology. If you consider yourself a jack of all trades with a great work ethic this might be the place for you. Our work environment is fun and fast-paced. We are an overnight residential camp in PA that provide free lodging, dining, facility access (including our weight room and indoor heated pool!), an wi-fi. Additionally, all staff are provided with a laundry and travel stipend on top of a summer salary package.


Position Purpose: 
The Program Associate will assist the Program Director in overseeing programmatic day-to-day operations. These operations include organizing activities, ordering supplies, managing spaces, and aiding with staff communications. 

Essential Job Functions: 
  • Responsible for maintaining petty cash fund and account balances
  • Aiding the program director and associate director in logistical planning and implementation
  • Credit Card Itemization
  • Human Resource Management for Line Staff
  • Excellent customer service when communicating with other staff, parents, and shareholders
  • Ability to handle issues independently without the assistance of a manager
  • Organization and critical thinking
  • Comfortable with a google office suite, especially google docs and sheets
  • Database Upkeep
  • Accounts Receivable/Payable
  1. For sheets: You know how to utilize basic formulas, data validation, sorting features, conditional formatting, etc (If you aren’t familiar with sheets you need to be a self-starter when it comes to technology and can learn the basics of software quickly)
  2. For docs: Preferentially you type at a minimum of 50 words per minute and understand the basics of the software
  • Feel comfortable talking to people and can help the director with crowd control and or presentations when needed
  • Flexible and ready for a fast-paced environment that may have multiple goal shifts throughout the day

Other Job Duties: 
  • Occasionally you may need to assist with activities on campus
  • Scheduling and mediating
  • Occasional collaboration with other members of the leadership team to complete office tasks or tasks around campus
  • Ability to maneuver a golf cart

Qualifications: 
  • Successful completion of at least one year of college
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience 
  • Must have worked with children before and preferentially have some experience with children with diagnoses of ADHD or similar
  • Average to above-average computer skills 

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, run, sit, stand, crouch, and lift. Anticipate keeping up with our campers inside and outside of buildings and lifting and/or toting items around campus. Due to the nature of the work, our staff members do need to be physically capable of keeping up with our kids, which may mean extended periods of walking, running, sitting, standing, lifting, crouching, and more.
