Business Overview:
ALM Treasury is a Transversal Activity within BNP Paribas Group. ALM Treasury has three operational responsibilities and two prudential mandates. The three operational responsibilities are the management of the Group's liquidity position, the management of the interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) and the management of the foreign exchange risks. The prudential mandates refer to the liquidity risks linked to the Group’s profile and geographical presence, for which ALM Treasury exercises a responsibility similar to a Group function. ALM Treasury’s mandates consist in assessing the liquidity risks of the Group and protecting the Group’s signature.
Medium and Long Term Funding New-York
The team is tasked with managing the liquidity, interest rate risk and FX risk for BNP Paribas US branches. BNPP is also the USD global clearer and also manages the buffer out of NY (bonds, repo and cash)
The NY team is also handling the MLT tasks including the Management of the BNPP USMTN Program for the US territory. The incumbent works in close co‐ordination with our Paris Head Office, as New York is the one of the two other territories other than Head Office with a specific MLT presence. The following tasks are covered:
- Manage the Medium and Long Term Liquidity position and issuance of the territory (including issuance process, trades booking, call monitoring, unwind, NY database management, day to day interaction with our internal dealer…)
- This includes reporting to the various functional groups including the Group MLT funding desk in Paris and locally to the Head of the Position team
- Manage the interactions with the Issuer and Paying Agent (including discussion with the legal councils regarding the USMTN program or ad‐hoc transactions)
- Manage the relationship with external and internal dealers
- Manage ALM’s internal relationship with Syndicate, Sales, Legal
- Help manage all aspects of MTN Issuance vehicles in respect of the Métier’s rules: Compliance, Credit Risk, Legal and Market Risk policies.
- Help monitoring of BancWest Medium and Long Term Funding issues.
- Work in coordination with the ALM B/S Manager on all B/S as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will assist in the following tasks:
- Help manage all aspects of MTN Issuance vehicles in respect of the Métier’s rules: Compliance, Credit Risk, and Market Risk policies including trades booking, call monitoring, unwind, NY database management, invoices…
- Interactions with the BNPP internal dealer (sales, structurers…)
- Main point of contact for the USMTN program Issuance and Paying Agent and for ALM ops based in Canada
- Maintain a strong relationship with Group MLT funding desk in Paris in charge of the MLT Funding of the BNPP Group
- Keep the local management and HO well informed on volume, activity, innovation observed in the US
- Assist from time to time local management or Paris HO to generate reports, analysis…
- Respect of Code of Conduct and rules & Regulations
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with a preferred emphasis in finance or business related majors.
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills (French is a plus)
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced environment
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in ALM Treasury
- Good understanding of Equity Structured Products
