Computer Support Specialist

The primary duties of the Computer Support Specialist are to assist the Information Systems Manager in planning, implementing, and maintaining workstation computers, printers and devices throughout the agency. Familiarity with confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic protected health information and HIPAA is a plus.
Duties may include and are not limited to:
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from staff. Provide troubleshooting assistance and resolution to staff submitting helpdesk tickets or calling into the helpdesk.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ability to move or lift up to 50 pounds such as computers, office equipment or file boxes over a short distance.
  • Change or replace printer, copier and fax machine expendable supplies, including toner cartridges, and help staff with equipment operational issues.
  • Assist staff in relocation of workstation computer equipment, including printers and other devices.
  • Maintain a System Maintenance Log of workstation hardware and software modifications for asset tracking.
  • Assist the Administrative Assistant for Technology Support in addressing user hardware problems and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with training and supporting employees in the use of the Agency computer equipment, software, and hardware.
Office environment is fast-paced and result-oriented, which presents multiple demands with frequent interruptions, constantly shifting schedules and priorities, and simultaneous deadlines requiring employee to be flexible, organized, and cooperative.
Required: 21 years of age and a high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate. Four years of computer hardware experience preferred.
