Investment Banking Analyst

Job Description
We are seeking an investment banking analyst for the Mergers & Acquisitions group in the Company’s St. Louis headquarters.
Analysts will be part of a dynamic and growing investment banking team focused on the middle market. Analysts will play an integral role in originating and executing a variety of transactions, including sell-side M&A, buy-side M&A and private debt and equity raises.
The analyst will support the team by:
§ Analyzing financial statements
§ Developing detailed, complex financial models
§ Developing company valuation analyses
§ Conducting extensive research on prospective clients and industries for senior bankers
§ Creating detailed client marketing materials for M&A and capital raise transactions
§ Developing pitch book materials for potential and existing clients
§ Coordinating with clients on transaction executions

Edwards offers a collegial, inclusive work environment where analysts have access to senior-level bankers and are involved in all aspects of deal origination and deal execution. Typical deal teams are small, which will result in meaningful responsibilities and client interaction for analysts.
Qualifications
This position requires excellent quantitative, writing and interpersonal communication skills. Candidates should work well in teams and be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent computer skills are essential and in depth knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is critical. Candidates must have the ability to prepare financial models and understand financial statements and basic accounting. Key qualifications include:
§ Strong financial modeling/valuation skills
§ Strong quantitative and technical skills
§ Deep knowledge of finance
§ Knowledge of general accounting principles and financial statements
§ Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
§ High attention to detail and accuracy
§ Ability to master new tasks quickly
§ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
§ Adept at data management and research
§ Ability to be a team player and strong personal integrity
§ Ability to work independently
§ Ability to work under tight deadlines
§ Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments
§ Ability to demonstrate good judgment
§ Strong work ethic and high level of motivation
§ Minimum GPA of 3.3
§ Recent college graduates and candidates with previous investment banking experience will be considered
