Program Coordinator I (.6 FTE)- Environmental Medicine and Public Health

The World Trade Center Health Program’s (WTCHP) Data Center (DC) at Mount Sinai is seeking a Program Coordinator to participate in the coordination of outreach activities of multiple clinical centers and other stakeholder organizations, such as unions, community organizations, and governmental agencies. This is a part-time position, at 60% FTE.
The DC is responsible for coordination of a federally funded, multi-site medical program providing annual medical examinations, mental and physical health treatment to nearly 50,000 WTC responders who worked in the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks. The Program Coordinator will report to the DC’s Member Services Supervisor, who has overall responsibility for the creation, implementation and evaluation of a variety of initiatives and campaigns to encourage and assist WTC responders to enroll in the WTCHP.
The Program Coordinator will work with outreach staff from the five clinical center sites in the NYC metropolitan area, the program’s federal funders, and representatives from organizations that represent WTC responders, who are a diverse population that includes NYPD personnel, New York City employees from multiple agencies, construction workers, volunteers, clean-up workers, medical and mental health providers, and many others. A significant number of these responders are immigrants who speak Spanish or Polish. 
Roles & Responsibilities: 
  • Participate in the coordination of outreach activities by the WTCHP’s Clinical Centers of Excellence and other stakeholders, specifically by maintaining a shared events calendar, and providing technical support to the CCEs
  • Administrative duties such as maintaining distribution lists for outreach coordination conference calls and taking minutes
  • Research and/or follow up on outreach targets and leads
  • Respond to program members’ and potential members’ inquiries about the WTCHP, as needed
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Member Services Supervisor
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the degree when the experiences are closely related to the duties of the job
  • Experience: None required, but 1-2 years administrative experience preferred
