What does an Audit Intern do?

• Participates in a variety of challenging assignments, similar to those handled by full-time Audit Division staff. 
• Participates on audits of the Bank’s operations and/or information technology functions including, but not limited to:
o Assisting on assurance reviews of the Bank’s operations and/or information technology functions;
o Analyzing business processes to evaluate and verify compliance with established policies and procedures; and
o Determining if internal controls and processes are effectively designed and implemented.
• Conducts diverse projects within the Audit Division to contribute to achievement of Division objectives and/or support ongoing audit attentions.
• Serves as a “risk consultant” or advisor to audit clients by identifying control weaknesses or opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations. 

What skills and experience do Audit Interns need?
  • Undergraduate or graduate students within two years of graduation.
  • Maintain independence and objectivity when working with audit clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Initiative and leadership skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Foundational knowledge of generally accepted auditing techniques preferred.
