An internship with Point72’s MI Data – Insights
Point72’s Market Intelligence Data group is a service-focused business committed to driving high quality fundamental research powered by advanced data analytics to help inform investment decisions at Point72. MI Data – Insights occupies the pivotal space in the innovation chain at Point72, integrating alternative data into the processes of our Portfolio Managers. MI Data – Insights analysts continuously improve products by bridging fundamental company research and quantitative analytics that leverage alternative data sources.
What you’ll do
As a Summer Analyst, you will gain experience in fundamental investment research and data analytics. In this role, you will:
• Perform fundamental company research to understand underlying business
• Help improving alternative data-based investment insight products, by working with data scientists to better make the connection between a company’s business and the data
• Summarize your analysis and recommendation in write-ups for end users in fundamental investment teams
• Gain knowledge and exposure to a face-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
Desired skill sets
We want you to join us if you have a strong quantitative background and have analytical mindset. Other requirements include:
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 (or equivalent)
• Interest in equity markets
• Technical programming skills (SQL, Python, R) preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment
