Trade Desk Assistant
The Q Family Office hedge fund, Q Investments is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented recent graduate or individual with 0-5 years of experience to support its trading functions. The work environment is open, team-based, and fast-paced. Q Investments executes trades in almost every area of the US securities markets including high yield and investment grade debt, equities, options, CLOs, and treasury securities. The Trade Desk Assistant will assist with trading desk functions such as maintaining trading systems, tracking and analysis of trading and securities lending/financing opportunities, and researching company-specific news for portfolios, data-entry and general trade desk administrative assistance. A successful candidate will eventually be given trading responsibility over time.
Recent graduates in any major are encouraged to apply, but individuals with a business background are preferred. Strong Excel skills are required. This position offers the opportunity for smart people that want to be involved in and learn from the trading desk of a multi-strategy private investment firm.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Exemplary analytical skills
- Proficiency with Excel, SQL, VBA and Bloomberg
- 3.5+ GPA
- Undergraduate degree in finance, statistics, management information systems, or a related discipline
- A track record of achievement through internships, academic accolades, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to be a team player
- Ability to commit to at least 2 years in the role
