The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, central Missouri’s largest freestanding Orthopaedic center, is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and committed Student Employee for our Clinic Scribe Team

The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department’s mission: advance the clinical, research and teaching components of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri.
 
This position will support the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and C3 Orthopaedics Initiative (Comprehensive, Cutting Edge, Caring Culture), which fosters a fast learning and continuously improving organization.

Position Overview:
·        Assist orthopaedic physician in the outpatient clinic setting with note taking and documentation
·        Create clinic notes to be reviewed by the physician and saved into the electronic medical record
·        Interact with the physician and team to assist in overall clinic flow
·        Follow University Healthcare Policies and Regulations in regards to scribing
·        Educate new scribes as necessary

·        Effective communication skills, even if the scribe is unsure or has questions about the task at hand
·        Detail-oriented, especially with typing and phrasing sentences
·        Holds a good understanding of the importance of diversity  
·        Goal-oriented; candidates are looking to pursue a career in the health care field
·        Good listeners; receives feedback well
·        Has a solid understanding or willingness to learn medical terminology used on a daily basis
