Crop Insurance Processing Support Internship
Internship Goals:
· Our goal is to provide an educational opportunity to students about the risk management tools available to agricultural producers of crops and livestock and the experience of working within a small office environment to complete the processing of crop insurance policies.
· We are offering a paid internship to students within the ag industry who seek to discover a future career in the Agriculture Risk Management field.
· Full Time employment opportunities exist for interns who accel in meeting our expectations and who exhibit a strong desire to assist customers in meeting their risk management goals by providing excellent customer service, exceptional product knowledge, and extensive attention to detail.
Job Requirements:
· Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
o Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook
· Strong written correspondence skills
· Seniors in ag-related degrees preferred
· Excellent customer service skills/personality on phone and in person
· Ability to multi-task
· Knowledge and use of office machines
· Ability to learn and retain knowledge quickly
Job Description:
· Greet customers in office environment
· Assess customer needs and respond accordingly
· Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls
· Receive and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.
· Create and distribute outgoing correspondence
· Prepare documents, reports, presentations pertaining to office activities and meetings
· Manage office suspense system
· Monitor deadlines and assist in the collection of data and reports from agents and customers for respective crop insurance cycle deadlines.
· Process crop insurance policies and reports in respective company keying systems.
· Learn crop insurance policy, procedures, claims, and sales aspects of the industry.

· Treat all agents and clients with the highest respect and concern
· Aggressively attempt to solve customer service issues with the least amount of effort from customer
· Learn ongoing office cycles
· Learn basic insurance forms and purpose to serve customer needs
· Maintain clean and neat work environment
· Review and study reference material to further your knowledge of the crop insurance products.
