Student Graphic Designer

Seeking undergraduate or graduate student responsible for creating, designing and executing marketing campaigns and advertisements on behalf of the professional development and leadership arm of MU Graduate School.
  • Marketing efforts include print materials/ads, themes, and social/multimedia to reach almost 6,000 graduate students, as well as faculty, staff, and administrators. In addition, the student designer will assist with projects as needed that may pertain to recruitment, inclusive excellence, and the Missouri Science & Technology Policy Fellows.
  • Overview of the Graduate School and its services will be provided. You will be supervised and advised by a full-time staff person.
  • This position is project based, meaning the workload varies. Person will meet with our Director of Professional Development and Leadership for project overview and then may do "remote" hours to design, edit, etc. Some projects may require 5 or so hours per week and some may require 10-12 hours a week; yet there may be weeks with more or less work.

Qualifications:
  • We are looking for a dedicated, hard-working, and creative individual who can both take initiative on projects, but also work effectively in a team. This person will be working closely with others and needs to voice opinions but also work towards consensus.
  • This person must have a thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop and other graphic design software. Familiarity with video/animation software is a plus.
  • We are seeking candidates who are innovative thinkers, people-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and excellent design abilities.
  • The position can be ongoing (continuing for future semesters) if the person performs well in the role.
