Student Assistant Technical

The Soil Health Assessment Center needs technicians for summer 2023 and beyond. Duties include preparing soil samples for analysis by weighing, grinding, sieving, bagging, labeling, and shelving soil samples. Other duties may include sorting in-coming samples, unloading sample crates, subsampling, and preparing samples to dry. Opportunities exist to advance to analyzing soil samples in the laboratory for soil physical, chemical, biological, and morphological properties. Hours are somewhat flexible. During the summer students may work part time or full time. This position may be extended into the school year as a part time position. This position may serve as an internship for some majors.
