Economic Development Manager

Description
Under direction from the Incentives Division Administrator, coordinates the administration of and the supervision of the ImagiNE Nebraska Revolving Loan Program and the Renewable Chemical Acts, and other programs as required. Assist with planning and directs implementation of programs and reporting.

Job location is 301 Centennial Mall South 4th Floor. Lincoln, NE 68508 

Hours: 8-5, Monday - Friday


Examples of Work
• Assist with administration of the new ImagiNE, Key Employer and Jobs Retention Act, Renewable Chemical Tax Credit, Customized Job Training, and Nebraska Transformational Projects acts.
• Trains staff in the policies and procedures of the Business Incentive Division programs.
• Plans, assigns, and directs the work activities of consultant staff to facilitate the attainment of the Division’s goals to ensure the consistent application of administrative and program policies, procedures, and standards.
• Provide technical counseling to industries new to the state or existing businesses looking to expand, focusing on Nebraska’s incentive programs.
• Provides technical counseling to existing industry for expansion in the state focusing on Nebraska’s incentive programs.
• Review program applications, assists in the process of determining qualification of proposed business locations for the ImagiNE Act.
• Coordinates with representatives of the business seeking the available state tax incentive programs, state job training programs, and federally-funded business incentives.
• Assists with required program reporting.
• May assist DED business recruiting staff in business recruiting efforts. 

Qualifications / Requirements
Required:  Bachelor's degree in economics, business, public administration, community or regional planning, marketing or a related field, and three years related experience. Experience in a related field may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred: Experience in tax or incentive environment. Experience in grantmaking or lending.
