Private Institutional Clients (the “PIC Desk”)

The PIC Desk provides sophisticated investment opportunities and capital markets-based solutions to top tier clients who qualify as an institutional account based on their size and sophistication. The PIC Desk offers tailored financing solutions, co-investment opportunities in the private marketplace and access to an extensive range of asset classes and platforms.

Our program

We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with a passion for the financial markets to join our team for a part-time internship during the academic year.

An internship on the PIC Desk will give you hands-on experience, valuable networking opportunities, as well as the chance to learn from experts in the wealth management and financial services industries. Our interns are deeply involved in all aspects of PIC’s business – from origination of investment opportunities through the distribution process, as well as internal operations. We value the contributions made by our interns to the team and work closely with them to identify areas for their further career development.


Job Summary:

PIC is seeking an MBA intern to support the desk’s financial reporting function. Qualified candidates should have at least 1-2 years of experience in the financial services industry or corporate finance, and currently pursuing and MBA degree at a top-tier academic institution.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Develop and maintain product-level revenue models and roll-forward revenue projections
·         Update private investments deal blotter to track all sales (present and historical)
·         Work with senior team members to create budgets and budget forecasts
·         Assist in tracking revenues and generating invoices for any monies owed by sponsors or other parties
·         Interacts daily on the phone and in person with financial advisors to facilitate the investment process, answer technical questions, or other questions about PIC.
·         Assist with special research projects as requested by senior management
·         Prepare reports and analysis used in management presentations and other reporting materials.
·         Prepare letters, forms, and spreadsheets to assist with servicing financial advisors and clients consummating transactions.
·         Create and maintain records and files necessary for the operation of the business.
·         Assists team members with marketing efforts including presentations, advisor/client launch emails, webinars, etc.
·         Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications - External
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
·         Proficient in MS Office suite of products, including Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and products.

·         Ability to work collaboratively with a team-oriented attitude
  • Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
·         • Current student pursuing a Masters of Business Administration from a top-tier academic institution
  •  1-2 years’ experience in investment banking, financial services, or corporate finance preferred
