Veterans United Immersion Diversity Internship
At VU, we help Veterans buy homes. We also work to introduce multicultural students to the mortgage industry through our Immersion Diversity summer internship program.
Immersion is a rigorous and fast-paced program with various tracks available in multiple departments, as well as a group project, which in the past has included nonprofit/community support and business pitches.
This paid internship provides housing in Columbia, Missouri. Columbia is a fast-growing community with a vibrant art, music, culinary, and theater scene.
The city has a strong sport and outdoor community, including an abundance of trails and parks, and has been named one of the best cities in the nation to live in for multiple years in a row. As an Immersion intern, you have the potential to be placed in one of these areas:

Immersion provides you with an opportunity to make a difference. You’ll also experience some of the perks of a full-time employee, such as personal and professional development, free snacks, casual dress code, and company-wide social events. Immersion interns enjoy special development sessions including an etiquette dinner, golf, and numerous opportunities to impact the community through volunteer efforts.
As an intern, you will be hands-on and gain experience applicable to your career goals. You’ll be expected to take direction and incorporate feedback from your mentors and should proactively identify opportunities for you to support the team.
Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include:
- Providing general administrative assistance and support
- Learning and mastering assigned operations of your department
- Assisting team members with assorted tasks
- Identifying areas of process improvement
- Preparing and pitching an innovative proposal to company leadership
