Loan Certification Specialist

Take the next step in your career with FCS Financial, part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, and act on this opportunity to join our top quality agricultural lending institution! FCS is seeking a pro-active, analytical, accurate, and detail-oriented individual. The Loan Certification position within the Loan Services Team reviews and certifies long term FLCA loans and prepares related reports. This person works closely with the Loan Services Team to determine if the loan is certified or needs changes. Knowledge of title insurance and loan documentation is a required. 

This position is located in Jefferson City.

This position is open until filled.

This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Responsibilities/Duties

Job Functions*

95% Review of FLCA loans for certification
  • Confirms Association has a first real estate lien and all loan documents are correct via post-closing review of:
  • Promissory Note, Deed of Trust, and Lender’s Title Insurance Policy
  • Confirms FLCA loans have been fully disbursed
  • Based on review of documentation, determines if the loan is certified or needs changes.
  • Provides correctives measures to internal Loan Services staff, and/or requests changes, dependent on the type of closing
  • Prepares Loan Certification Certificate
  • Scans Loan Certification Certificate and supporting documents into document management database
5% Report Preparation
  • Prepares reports from multiple sources to report the number of loans reviewed and certified
  • Report will include status update on all loans uncertified over a year and over 300 days
  • Reviews reports to ensure accuracy
  • Provides reporting to all Leadership staff on a monthly basis

Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year of related experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • General knowledge of loan documentation
  • General knowledge of real estate ownership transfer documents and the effect of those documents
  • General knowledge of title insurance
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Skill in utilizing a personal computer to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness
  • Skill in processing complex, detailed information in an accurate and thorough manner
  • Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers and supervisor
  • Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic way to optimize efficiency
  • Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and data and clients’ data
