The position provides complex administrative support to the Community Development Department and assists on projects and programs related to Neighborhood Development, Grants Management, Code Enforcement, Building Safety, and Planning and Zoning. The entry level position is ideal for a candidate looking to get exposure to local government and, more specifically, the functions of the Community Development Department. An ideal candidate would have strong customer service skills, the ability to function in a fast-paced environment and represent the City of Peoria to the general public in a professional manner. The position provides assistance and coordination in the prosecution process of City ordinance violators; provides customer service to the general public, and outside organizations and agencies regarding City codes, policies, standards, and processes and helps coordinate the non-owner property registration to include enforcement action.
