Student Trainee - Economist

Positions are being filled under the Pathways Student Internship Authority which is designed to provide students enrolled in a variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with paid work opportunities in agencies to explore federal careers while in school.

Student Trainees will perform the following duties under direct supervision. Assignments will be developmental in nature and will assist the employee in gaining the competencies necessary for a career.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary planning team meetings and assists with plan and environmental evaluations.
  • Assists in the preparation of plans and reports or sections of plans, reports, and supporting documents dealing with economics.
  • Provides assistance in the analysis of economic and social impacts for various natural resource projects and conservation programs.
  • Participates in agency training and public presentations of material relating to conservation, economics, and overall natural resources planning.
  • Assists project leaders on designated projects which may include collaboration with other agencies in collecting, assembling, and summarizing economic data.
  • Provides support to technical specialists and Business Tools team in development and maintenance of electronic tools, forms, reports, and databases in Excel and Access programs.
