Brockman Household - Personal Care Assistant
Assist Barbara Brockman (69) with tasks of daily living:
-dressing, toileting, shower
-Mobility: assist with walking and transferring
-Extension of therapies: Walks with a cane and gate belt daily.
-Care of adaptive equipment: Wears orthotic ankle brace on Left leg. Manual wheelchair with elevated Left leg.
-Exercise: Stretching and other basic exercises occasionally.
-Meal preparation: breakfast, lunch & dinner
-Medications: give meds & vitamins from pill planner with meals
-Incidental household cleaning: assist with cleaning bedroom/bathroom, laundry for individual receiving services
-Using public transportation: prepare individual and assist with boarding Paratransit bus or van (potential to attend appointments, if needed)
-Other activities to achieve increased independence or inclusion in the community: Barbara uses her ipad to play brain trainer games and exercises and may invite you to participate.
Qualifications
Preferred:
Nursing, OT, PT or related fields
(pre- or current students, or graduated)
Past experience working with people with disabilities
Work schedule

Open shifts:
Monday 9AM-12PM, 4-7PM
Tuesday 9AM-12PM, 4-7PM
Wednesday 9AM-12PM, 4-7PM
Thursday 9AM-12PM, 4-7PM
Friday 9AM-12PM, 4-7PM
Saturday 9AM-12PM, 4-7PM
Sunday 9AM-12PM, 4-7PM
Looking for availability during the school semester and during breaks. Hours are slightly flexible, so we can work with you around classes. Depending on your availability this position can be part-time with as few a 3 hours per week or full-time.
