Student Office Assistant - SHP Career Services

The MU School of Health Professions Office of Career Services helps students with a number of career-related needs, including the job/career search, graduate school search/application process, interview practice, personal statement writing, and general professional development advice. The office also offers weekly employer/graduate program information sessions and hosts a Career and Opportunities Fair each semester. The student office assistant is critical to the implementation of office services and will gain valuable experience in resume reviewing, multi-tasking, organization, teamwork, and event planning.

Work hours: 10-12 hours per week with flexible scheduling during the weekday between 8:30am - 5pm.
Pay: $11.50/hour
Duties shall include, but are not limited to:
  • Approve and provide feedback (electronically) to SHP students on their resumes through HireMizzouTigers.com (Handshake) and may eventually meet with students to review resumes (training provided).
  • Assists with office events including creation of electronic marketing material and tracking event attendance.    
  • Performs routine administrative tasks and special projects under direction of supervisor.
  • Performs data entry in computerized system; maintains routine informational spreadsheets.
  • Maintain and update routine departmental records and filing systems.

Job Qualifications:
Clerical or office experience and peer tutoring/mentoring experience preferred, but not required. Must be a current student at the University of Missouri with preference given to School of Health Professions students.
