Brewery Packaging Operator

Brewery Packaging Machine Operator

O'Fallon Brewery is looking to expand it's talent pool to include personnel in our highly technical packaging operations department. We are looking for talented people to assist with the Machine Operator role. We operate canning, bottling and keg filling operations.

Basic Duties Include:
Canning Operator
·      Setup/Shutdown – Full understanding of Sani, CIP, Canning Line, & Buffer Tank daily operation.
·      Depal – Load and run the canning depal. Mitigate can loss.
·      Printer – Replace Ink & Toner Cartridges. Ensure code dates are accurate and printed clearly.
·      Filler – Ensure cans are being filled to a proper level. Mitigate beer loss.
·      Seamer – Ensure accurate lid application. Check can seam quality at regular intervals.
·      Labeler – Ensure accurate label application. Swap label rolls.
Bottling Operator
·      Setup/Shutdown – Full understanding of Sani, CIP, Bottling Line, & Conveyor daily operation.
·      Depal – Operate the bottling depal. Swap glass pallets mid run. Mitigate bottle loss.
·      Printer – Replace Ink & Toner Cartridges. Ensure code dates on bottles and mother cartons are accurate and printed clearly.
·      Labeler – Ensure accurate label application. Swap label rolls.
·      Filler – Ensure bottles are being filled to a proper level. Mitigate beer loss.
·      Crowner – Load crowns. Ensure proper crown application. Mitigate crown loss.
·      Erector – Operate six-pack erector. Mitigate six-pack loss.
·      Formapak – Operate mother carton former. Operate glue machine. Mitigate carton loss.
·      Acepack – Operate assembly machine. Ensure six packs are placed correctly into boxes, and bottles correctly into six-packs.
·      Sealpack – Ensure boxes are sealed correctly and sent down to offload.

Additional Duties Include:

Canning Operator
·      Setup – Morning shift operator is responsible for full setup of machine. Must be able to operate ATP Monitoring System for tests on the line and C-Box for gas levels in the buffer. Setup should be finishing as lower-tier workers arrive to ensure maximum efficiency on canning line.
·      Conversion – Must be able to do full conversion of canning line between 12oz and 16oz cans. Swapping the chute in depalletizer, adjusting seamer, adjusting labeler height, etc.
·      Shutdown – Evening shift operator is responsible for full shutdown of machine. Must be able to run full CIP cycle and Sani for next morning. Shutdown should include clearing all trash outside, clearing all remaining packaging from run, and help with prep-work for morning to ensure a strong start for the next day.
OR
Bottling Operator
·      Setup – Morning shift operator is responsible for full setup of machine. Must be able to operate ATP Monitoring System for tests on the line. Setup should be finishing as lower-tier workers arrive to ensure maximum efficiency on bottling line.
·      Depal – Convert between 12oz and 22oz bottles. Calculate and clear Depal early when swapping between glass types to mitigate handpulling blanks.
·      Labeller – Convert between long and short label rolls. Respool labels as needed.
·      Crowner – Convert crown types as needed.
·      Erector – Convert from six-packs to 4 packs as needed.
·      Shutdown – Evening shift operator is responsible for full shutdown of machine. Must be able to run full CIP cycle and Sani for next morning. Shutdown should include clearing all trash outside, clearing all remaining packaging from run, and help with prep-work for morning to ensure a strong start for the next day.
