Outpatient Therapist

KVC Kansas represents one of the strongest and broadest child welfare and behavioral healthcare continuums in the nation. KVC is seeking a Master's level Outpatient Therapist licensed by the Kansas BSRB to provide family, individual, and/or group therapy to clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned according to the qualification of staff and development of programs.
  • Continues to build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and stable; family centered, connected to the community; and which relies on evidence based practice necessary to support contract services.
  • Provides therapeutic services by facilitating in-home family, individual, and/or group therapy to all referred clients/families.
  • Complete all credentialing paperwork and be paneled on third party insurance.
  • Complete and keep current all initial authorizations for services and re-authorizations as needed.
  • Document on all therapy services provided and place the documentation in the clinical charts.
  • Completes a comprehensive intake evaluation.
  • Completes initial and master treatment plans.
  • Writes discharge summaries and ensures that clients are appropriately transitioned to another provider if needed.
  • Proficient in crisis intervention.
  • Offer guidance to necessary involved agencies regarding the nature of diagnosis, treatment implementation, and client status.
  • Will be an active participant in all KVC clinical meetings and provide relevant input.
  • Schedule and participate in psychiatric services for clients as needed.
  • Act as a liaison to psychiatric hospitalizations for clients when applicable.
  • Verify insurance authorization as needed to ensure that services provided will be covered.
  • Submit accurate and timely billing to accounting.
  • Adhere to and meet the billing requirements set forth in the annual clinical contract.
  • Maintain licensure and good standing with the BSRB.
  • Attends trainings as required.
FLSA Status: Exempt

Intermediate to advanced computer skills in typing/keyboarding and Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. are required. Must be able to learn and become proficient in KVC’s client management database and other in-house software programs.

Qualifications

Education

Required
Masters or better in Social Work or related field.

Experience

Required
Master's degree in Social Work (LMSW), family therapy (LMFT & LCMFT), counseling (LPC & LCPC) or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) from an accredited institution and licensed to practice in the State of Kansas. Minimum of three years supervised experience in providing individual, family and group therapy to children and/or adolescents preferred. Documented course work in child/adolescent development and individual, family and group counseling.
