Grassroots/Promotions Specialist, Racquet Sports (ITA Internship)

Summary
The objective of the ITA Internship is to mentor a bright, aspiring student who has a passion for Racquet Sports and is eager to learn the business side of sports. The intern will assist in various projects within the Racquet Sports Division at Wilson and be exposed to various Racquet Sports team members to gain a broad perspective on our business.
Start date: May or June 2023 (based on the candidate's academic schedule)
Duties
- Gathering data from NCAA and junior tournaments and constructing Excel and PowerPoint reports organizing product market share of Wilson compared with top competitors. Used this data to evaluate the growth of the company compared to previous years
- Creating relationships with players, families, and consumers when working as a racquet sales expert at professional tennis tournaments such as the Cincinnati Open and the U.S. Open
- Evaluating and selecting junior players for select team and platinum sponsorships based on recruiting scales and scouting
Requirements
We would like our intern to be working towards an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Sports Marketing preferred but not required for this role.
- Currently a Junior or Senior enrolled in a college or 4-year university (university or college must be an ITA member)
- Tennis Team Member or Team Manager and for at least two semesters
- Experience promoting his/her varsity tennis team on their college campus and in the community (i.e. helping to market home matches as part of the ITA attendance race)

- Rising senior $20/hour
- Graduate: $25/hour
- Graduate student/engineer: $30/hour
