Involvement Ambassador (Student)

Summary
Located in the Office of Student Engagement, the Involvement Ambassadors are a group of experienced students who provide one-on-one consultations and group presentations to fellow students to provide information and available resources to become involved on Mizzou's campus. Involvement Ambassadors also participate in outreach events, such as the Get Involved Fair and Involvement Week, to promote the benefits of campus involvement.
Essential Responsibilities
Knowledge of available resources and involvement opportunities on campus to facilitate group presentations throughout the semester.
Provide guidance and consultation for students seeking involvement opportunities, as well as students wishing to expand their involvement experience.
Maintain scheduled office hours and scheduled consultation appointments.
Attend all Involvement Ambassador training and monthly staff meetings.
Serve as a program representative throughout Involvement Week, involvement fairs and other tabling events.
Recruit during outreach events, including Summer Welcome, Winter Welcome and the Get Involved Fair.
Support program growth and development by participating on an internal committee that meets at least twice a month, and complete committee-related tasks.
Exemplify a positive attitude and enthusiasm for Mizzou and student involvement.
Assist the Coordinator of Student Involvement as needed.
As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected in order to serve the customer and maintain the Student Affairs mission.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in personal and professional development activities throughout the academic year.
Help maintain a safe, clean and orderly space in the Student Organization space within the Center for Student Involvement.
Present a positive, professional image to the campus community on behalf of the Involvement Ambassadors and the Office of Student Engagement.
Collaborate with Dean of Students staff and various campus partners to create an integrated and team-oriented approach to the delivery of programs and services.
Physical Requirements
Capable of lifting, moving and transporting materials on occasion.
Must be able to bend and/or reach on occasion.
Ability to communicate and comprehend verbal and written information/instruction.
Duties imply the use of a computer and other office technology involving fine finger movements.

Administrative and functional supervision is received from full-time staff and peer leaders as assigned.

Shift
Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm availability.
2-6 hours per week.
This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for a student title, an individual must be enrolled at the University of Missouri. Enrollment in the summer session is not required if the student was enrolled in the Spring semester and is pre-enrolled for the Fall semester. Selection is contingent upon results of a review with the Office of Institutional Equity, Office of Student Accountability & Support, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, previous MU appointment history, and reference checks.
