Quality Control Technician Summer Intern - Flavors
Department: Quality/Regulatory, Flavors
Location: Carol Stream, IL
Type: Internship
 
Description:
 
-This role will assist in the daily tasks of the Flavors QC lab and work to support long term projects.
-Participate in daily sensory trainings involving learning raw material aroma profiles and how to accurately describe them.
 
Duties would include, but not be limited to the following:
 
-Running physical tests (Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, Loss on Drying, Bulk Density, Flash point, and Water Activity)
-Learn about and run samples on the GC
-Making items up to taste
-Participating in daily sensory training and organoleptic evaluations of incoming items
-Disposing lab samples
-Working on large department and division projects.
 
Expected outcome of internship:
 
 -For the intern to learn the basic aspects of Quality Control and about the food and flavor industries.
-For the intern to learn how to work in a team environment and gain hands-on lab experience.
-Support on the day to day operations of the lab which will allow the team to have additional free time to work on tasks outside of the day to day.
 
Qualifications:
 
-Must currently be enrolled in College and is pursuing a degree in a scientific field (preferably Food Science, Biology or Chemistry)
-Strong computer skills and wiling to work with the team on excel based projects
-Quick Learner
-Attention to Detail
-Preferably no food allergies
